What is the purpose of UW SGI?
The purpose of our club is to gather members of the University of Waterloo community at large to better understand the principles of Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism. The Soka Gakkai International (SGI) is a diverse global community of individuals in 192 countries and territories who practice Nichiren Buddhism. It cherishes the value of peace, culture and education centred on the respect for the dignity of life, and to contribute to the establishment of a peaceful world.
Individuals of non-Buddhist faith are welcomed and encouraged to join!
