ABOUT THE SOKA GAKKAI, AND UW SGI

Overcoming Life's challenges through determination and strength

______ . ______

Hello, and welcome to the UW SGI!

The University of Waterloo Soka Gakkai International club (abbreviated as UW SGI) is a club based in Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism. We are a group of students from across campus, consisting of both practicing members, and others looking to come learn and discuss various buddhist concepts, as well as applications of these teachings in our daily lives.

We encourage everyone to join our meetings, regardless of  race, ancestry, place of origin, ethnic origin, citizenship, faith, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, and more.  Diversity is what makes us all unique, and we would greatly appreciate all diverse perspectives in our meetings!

The goal of our meetings is to engage in respectful, meaningful, and positive dialogues and conversations about everything-- from our own daily lives, to buddhist concepts, and the real-world applications of buddhist teachings.

Please feel free to join us for any, and all of our meetings!
